BACKGROUND
To sleep per chance to dream? To be taken on a journey of the mind is the most uncharted of expeditions. I've often wondered just WHAT went on (and with whom)that afternoon behind the gardens, behind the wall - under the tree...
On the boundaries of Lochaber and Skye there is a place called 'Hallaig'. The eerie words of Sorely Maclean's poetry transport us to a beautiful, and distant desolate wilderness. I lived in Scotland my whole life and never knew of this place, but, thanks to the Musical talents of the late, 'Martyn Bennett' -who sadly passed away aged 33 in January -I know now.
Lastly, a journey into the expansion of conciousness. A trip into the mind of a 'traveller' of a different sort, -in Jacob ter Veldhuis' 'Bryers-Like' recording, 'The Heaven of Narcotics' This movement follows on from 'The Heaven of Love" and "The Heaven of Lust" in the longer piece.
Harps, Orchestration, samples and beats, and three talented Musicians. One Swiss, one Scots and one from the Netherlands. These tracks, I feel, blend together nicely, each taking the listener to a different location in their minds eye, and proving that great music is exactly that, having no boundaries. Great music is my own 'narcotic' of choice. "May this bliss never end...."
