BACKGROUND
The centrepiece of this 'your3' selection is the beautiful largo from the Lou Harrison concerto. I have been seeking two tracks to accompany this since 'your 3' started and I think I have only partially succeeded:(any suggestions?). I have tenuously linked the tracks as having 'classical' type titles so we have aubade, largo, and prelude. As I say the Harrison is wonderful. The Aubabe is a gentle pretty duet between Karl Jenkins (oboe) and John Etheridge (guitar) not really what you might expect from a jazz rock group. The Prelude is stunning in its own right. Its part of Caine's own take on Bach's original variations. It reaches a high point when the sound of the organ transforms to the expected sound of the hammond organ and is joined by(I think) Kettwiger Bach Ensemble: a joyous celebration of music, a fitting 3rd and final part of this 'your 3'.
