BACKGROUND
Totally personal - the Brubeck I first heard when I was 11 and it was the first record I bought (as an EP), the BBC record was my first Chinese classical music in 1971(thanks for that)but one track sounds almost exactly like Delta blues - the Chin is played like a slide-guitar and uses a blues mode - and Hooteroll raises the mood and still sounds so fresh and its really funky. Also, they are all tracks off records that have mysteriously disappeared over the years from my collection - and they are linked by contrast but also all are early attempts at world music - and have been most influential one way or another. They are all cool and beautiful too.
