"Be prepared for an immense weekend and a field packed full of patriotic crazy people out for a good time."
About Me: My name is Fern Jones, and I'm a bit mad!!! I love to listen to Chris Moyles in the afternoon - providing I'm not in college or in work! I'm 17 and work in a fish and chip shop but luckily it's only 2 or 3 days a week so I don't pong all the time! Heehee! I love to sing, dance and have a laff with my friends and I'm considering taking up yoga, which should be fun! I'm a complete Friends and Big Brother fanatic. Me and my friends could probably quote you a line from every episode of Friends ever made!
The City: Swansea is a fun loving, groovy, mad and crazy kinda place but for something a little quieter you could always head down to Mumbles to take a romantic walk along the beach. Otherwise, you can be guaranteed a party almost any night of the week! WOOHOO!!!
Eating Out: Fast food is hard to miss in Swansea with 3 (yes 3) McDonalds and a Burger King in the city centre. However, there are plenty of small cafe's with both greasy and healthy food for you to pick. There are plenty of Gregg's Bakery's and other small side shops. My favourite Place to eat is in the Sub-Cafe in Picton Arcade with plenty of fillings for jacket potatoes and baguettes for you to pick from, mmmmmm!! There's also a Pizza Hut up on the Kingsway, and many very posh restaurants to smooch in after a cool afternoon of partying with the Radio 1 crew!
"For all you disco lovers...Flares is the ultimate spot for you! Fantastically funky and perfect for an excellent night to lose yourself in the music."Clubs: Swansea is a major party city. All you have to do is take a stroll and you'll find loads of cool clubs and pubs for people who love all genres of music! Escape is by far one of my favourites with the classic dance night on Saturdays and a rock/indie night on Fridays when mad people like myself, go out and have a really good night out. However, for all you disco lovers, yup that's me again, Flares is the ultimate spot for you! Fantastically funky and perfect for an excellent night to lose yourself in the music. WOOHOO!
These are all along the Kingsway, as are Time and Jumpin Jacks also. Make your way down to Wind Street, commonly known as Wine Street, and there are Clubs and Pubs galore - you really are spoilt for choice!
Shopping:
There are loads of quality shops in Swansea, and if you miss them then you've got to be in the wrong place! In the main centre there's loads of cool shops to have a gander at! If your a bargin hunter like myself, David Evan's Bargain Basement is the best place, but when you meander into The Quadrant there's always a million and one places you could find a good sale - my favourite word, heehee! If it's unusual gifts you're looking for, head towards the back end (towards the beach/Grand Theatre) of Swansea and unusual craft shops like The Farm or Good Habbit are hidden away slightly but well worth the look. Not only do they sell 'one of a kind' clothing but some really sound accesories and furnishings. Hobo's, the 1970's shop where nothing seems to have been brought into the new millenium (including the workers) is one of my all time favourite places. If you're a retro kinda guy/gal, then you'll want to live there. It's well worth a visit at sometime during the weekend so you can be easily spotted in the crowd!
People:
Well I think that's about all you need to know about Swansea apart from that the local teenage motley crew tend to gather in Castle Square outside McDonalds being 'Hard'! The people are really not as scary as they may look! The beach is a lovely place to go and chill, providing the weather holds up! Morfa's skiing slopes are always a laugh as well so be prepared for an immense weekend and a field packed full of patriotic crazy people out for a good time.
