Bands Day

Gaelle
Joss Stone, Razorlight and Kasabian were the highlights of the weekend

Roz

Nyoami B
It was wkd the whole day was awesome, i loved the whole Natasha and Estelle duet! Very Kool! Also i love "The lost prophets" and they too rocked, loved it to bits! X X X X Rock on radio 1!

Hannah
Thought Estelle was going to be crap, but her new song was actually pretty good... as much as I hate to admit it. Natasha Bedingfield and Estelle ruined 'This Love'! Razorlight were amazing, but stayed on stage for too long... they've released 1 song, and stayed on stage for about an hour. Probably would have loved them if I hadn't had been getting jumped on continually by moshers throughout the whole thing. Damien Rice was the best thing since sliced bread. I knew he would be amazing but at times I just stopped and had to pinch myself! Big bonus that he's really cute as well! Vernon Kay was class... loved it when he took his top off. Couldn't stand up after 7 hours so left after GLC, who were the funniest thing I've ever seen. Was gutted I didn't get to see Mouldy Lookin' Stain! Thank you Radio 1 for an unforgettable day. All 12,000 of us are eternally grateful!

aidan, belfast
first OBW...estelle, natasha b were absolutely brilliant!as were razorlite.damien rice.lost prophets 2 ..........but........the highlite was def c'in JOSS STONE!!!!!!!!!!that girl is so unbelievably cool & wat a voice!

Caroline
Just wanted to thank Radio 1 and all its crew for coming to Birmingham which is often overlooked! I had a great day with my friends and got to see loads of cool new bands which I might never have seen otherwise over at the second stage...Like 'Exist' and 'The Departure'. Also saw Razorlight. The stand out performances had to have been from The Music, Kasabian and The Lost Prophets who really know how to please the crowd. Loved it when LP did the cover of Cry Me A River. Now that rocked! Thanxxx and come back real soon!

Ouch that hurt
Ok who threw the plastic bottle at Kasabian that landed on my head. I know its about the music (and they were great lol) but The Departure lacked what the opening band Exist had. All in all a great day even if the 22 20s looked miserable :0)

Natz
OMG great day! And thanks 2 JK and Chris Moyles 4 lettin me try on their shades! Lol vernon was sooo cute but LP's Ian is my fave now. Oh yeah the music rocked my socks!

Steve-o
Lost Prophets were amazing they should have played all night, shoulda been a Lost Prophets weekend, GLC were pretty good, I was embarressed for MLC LOSERS

hannah
disappointed that i didnt see the bands on the second stage. couldnt debate whether to leave my place at the front in the first tent and the bands on stage 1 were amazing just couldnt keep away. but very very very gutted i didnt see the music. anyway, MLS were a laugh, damien rice was so so top!!! isnt music so much better live!!! downsides - ripping my beautiful brown trousers which i love so much in the swirly mosh pit the lost prophets made everyone create. also losing my mobi in the train station when i was coming home. ah well.

Sarah
this was my first one big weekend, and i loved it! i thought lostprophets were amazing, and i got to meet them in the signing tent!! thnx radio 1 for a fantastic day, i really enjoyed the bands on the second stage, and lostprophets on the main stage, it was a day i will never forget!!

Sophie
Wow! what a day. Started in the best way with broken dolls, they're gonna be big. They're awesome. Razorlight were amazing even though i seemed to be stuck in between all the tall people! I met Johnny Borrell afterwards so it was ok, Bring on Ocotber 13th. But The Music were definately the best for me though. I'm sure Birmingham would be happy to have Radio 1 again next year! Thanks a lot for a great day

selina
exist were ace!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and ben winton from the departure is sooooooooo fit!!! i had a great weekend thank u radio 1!!!!!! luv ya

Lauren Bagley
Damien Rice and band were absolutely amazing, especially the girl singer (talk about multitalented.) Not forgetting the quality act by mouldy looking stain, Moyles and team truely are the savior's of radio 1 !!!!

Sarah N
What a fab day Sunday was! Couldn't fault anyone. Razor light were fantastic - the best band there! and Joss Stone's voice was superb! But the best act has to be MLS - still laughing about it now!

bex
well wot can i say, lost prophets were truly amazing, and omg how gorgeous is ian watkins i think im in love with the guy:p who ever has been voting foe mouldy lookin stain as better than lost prophets are badly mistaken and i pitty you!!!. lost prophets had the best crowd by far and also gave the best performance. the onley bad word i have to say about sunday is that tradgically i never got 2 meet or talk 2 ian:( but other than that it was an amzing day so thank you radio 1. and well vernan kay need a say any more. phwareeeee!!!.

xmiass
Chris Moyles is as arrogant off air as he is on!

Hannah Lines
OMG Lostprophets were brilliant, i threw my bracelet on stage and ian picked it up!!! ahhh... i love him so much... it totally rocked!

Emma and Sarah
damien rice was pure magic! We sang our little hearts out to the likes of 'woman like a man', 'volcano' and 'cannonball'...thanks Radio 1!! (P.S.~We also enjoyed lost prophets, razorlight, the music and the departure) xx

shep
wow how cooool is the lead singer of the music???i think i'm in love. lol they were the best by far for me - i got sooo many brusies, was right at the front but loved all their stuf, old and new. razorlight and kasabian were amazing too and razorlight were good but iv seen them do better. xxx

Kitty Kat

Carly
Oh my life! radio 1 has to come back to Birmingham! Lostprophets were the best, the moshing was vicious! Lostprophets were really nice at the sign in too! Mouldy lookin stain were great! chris moyles is soooo funny, and so were all the people that joined in with mouldy lookin stain. really regret not going to the signing now! More rock bands and more mouldy lookin stain next time pleassssseeeee!

Dario Recchia
WOW!!!!!! wot a weekend!I was listening on the Saturday and it sounded great. I went on the Sunday and I got to get close with Natasha Bedingfield. Lost Prophets ruled. Bring on the mosh pit again!!!! The day was awesome, thanks guys.

Wayne Fisher
Mouldy Lookin' Stain are legends! Chris is far too big for Radio 1, your on the way to becoming a musical god! Turn the mic off give up you day job and start work on the album. Musical icon status is out there, fill the gap left by the Shirehorses!

Sam Moore
Razorlight were great and so were Broken Dolls, ones for the future fantastic day

Rachel and Mad
Damien Rice was fantastic, the highlight of the day. The music and razorlight also rocked the beat. However, we were disappointed with Lost prophets. Brilliant day!!!!

leigh
Mouldy Lookin' Stain...chris moyles is genious..a total ledgend cant stop watching the playback on the site...i loved it...great atmosphere...unforgettable..cant wait till next year !!!!! xx

Thought everyone was great, except maybe estelle, but thats not my sorta thing. Really liked Joss Stone, thought she looked amazing too!! Razorlight were wicked too, so were GLC. I thought Damien Rice would be good but was surprised he was that good, and loastprophets ending was amazing!! Thanks Radio 1

Theano
I'm from Paris, France. Listened to The Music via internet. They were fantastic, as usual. What a show! Sheer energy! I'd have preferred to be at Birmingham, but thank you Radio 1 to give us the opportunity to listen to this awesome show.

emma!
wooow the whole day was amazing.. so worth getting up at 6am on a sunday for.. we were at the front all day and i loved every minute of it.. everyone that was on was fantastic! thanks for a fab day radio one!

Jeff
Thirteen Senses stole it I thought

Bennit
GLC rocked, but the crowd gave quite a static response. If thats such a term. Lost Prophets were amazing and there was a really good atmosphere when they were playing. But what hell was Moyles thinking with MLC, my god that sucked. Oh well at least he might sweat some fat out in that dog suit.

Dan from Hull
Estelle and Natasha Bedingfield were alright. Razorlight were the best band there in my opinion, Golden Touch being the highlight of the day. The Music were a close second, they were excellent. Didn't see much of JS and DR but they seemed good. Lostprophets were very good, as were GLC, pure entertainment! PS MLS weren't bad either, the costumes were fantastic!

Tab
What a great day, razorlight rocked!!! the music were just as good but the best were lost prophets, especially gettin the crowd into it, with the moshing and jumping up and down and when they sang last summer it was amazing!!!!!

Jess
Razorlight were sooo good! And MLS were wicked too- how good was Aled's dance?! I thought Lost Prophets were actually pretty bad. Get some decent lirics/tune and I'll listen. But overall damn good!

**Hannah**
Wow!! i had such an amazing day! an i met vernon kay! woo!! lost prophets were by far the best bant who played!! but natasha bedingfield an estelle were amazing 2. i was so close i cud c estelle crying! bless!! hehe wicked day!!! x x

Caroline
Mouldy Lookin' Stain were brill! Estelle n natasha bedingfield were gud 2! Thanx radio 1 4 a great day!

Ally
Highlight was Damien Rice, although the music and razorlight deserve special mentions! The bunny costume suited Aled rather well.

Mrs Pirate
Ashamed by the lack of pirates. I was there in a pirate hat and holding a lovely beard. Estelle & Natasha Bedingfield duet was awesome, Razorlight was very squashed, Vernon looked hot and Mls. Well, what can I say. release the single!!!!

Mikey
i was in no doubt lostprophets could never let me down and the performance last night was truely awesome! they really are true legends in their own right and it absolutely made my weekend just to be part of such a spectacular festival!

Lucy
meeting Lostprophets was the best!and also their gig!It was the best lps gig i've been to! Razorlight were awesome as well! xXx

Joss Stone is THE voice of modern soul. Amazing.

Jimmy cooper
Cheers Radio1 for a great day, saw Exist first off, the next big thing? probably! kasabian were a bit dissapointing but the music were as good as ever! cheers!

Tink
I was absolutely blown away by Damien Rice i was obsessed with him before and that just made me love him even more. I rocked out to him and cried pure raw emotion and talent is al i can say and his band were immense. Razorlight rocked to as did the departure and The Music especially in the mosh pit

Kate
I wasn't able to make it due to the fact that I'm heavily pregnant...by the power of real player I've just witnessed MLS and laughed so hard I've gone into labour....thank the saviour someone can take the mickey!!!

Alyson

fab day me and my m8 really had a gr8 time! got to say razorlight and lost prophets had by far the best atmosphere but natasha bedingfield and joss stone need more credit! particularly enjoyed estelles and natasha bedingfields version of maroon5s 'this love' gr8! but of course lost prophets really got the crowd going at made the perfect end to a gr8 day! i was stuck rite in da middle of da 'wall of death' those hu were there no wat im talkin bout! lol! wicked! =')

Emily

Perry Park Birmingham was a great venue to hold OBW. The best band of the day was Undoubtedly 'The Music'. I knew the song but didn't know the name of the band but after their performance I won't be forgetting them for a long time. Can Colin speak on the microphone without swearing! Jo Whiley.....fit!

Nigel Ginger

Scarlet
Saw the "Broken Dolls" on Sunday and was blown away.. a fantastic band; they left me feeling like i've just seen the next superstars. Here's hoping! Keep it up boys! Good to see a local band making waves..

Pandora
Kasabian and The Music were great. To be honest the smaller scale and atmosphere of the 2nd tent was best part of the day for me. But where were the Dj's in that tent? all seemed to be left to Zane. Am I the only one who thinks Moyles is an arrogant twit (ok an arrogant rich twit but ...) ?

emma
Broken Dolls showed loads of potential!! Can't wait to see their music in the shops, Kasabian made my day though!!!Thanks radio 1!

Richard Andrews
great day natasha was great so were glc and los prophets rocked to finsh off the show and all the crowd stayed friendly i must a mit the mls were good i thought they were going to be rubbish joss stone was brillant didnt see damion rice razor light got the crowd going i was a little disapointed by estelle i would just like to thank radio 1 for a great day it was wicked.

Theres no doubt about it.... Exist were def one of the best bands to play on sunday. Such talent!! And a fit drummer!! ;)

Michael Goodridge
The Stain were the dogs!!!!!!!!

Rabbit
The Music were the best band of the weekend by miles! It's the first time I've heard their new album played live and they ROCKED!

Lucy
It was amazing...I loved razor light the highlight for sure. The atmosphere with the Lostprophets was so incredible-got totally killed by the crowd-I'm only small! Wicked day thanks RADIO ONE!!!!

Tanya Coldfield
Lostprophets was amazing! They deserve more credits and exposure then they're getting at the moment. So glad they were the highlight of yesterday coz it'silly to praise the likes of GLC and mLC -- they're so unoriginal! Best band in the world = LOSTPROPHETS. Radio 1 should play more of their songs! All praise goes to Lee Gaze -- he was incredible!

aaron
omg wot a day, truely awesome, radio1 i thank u, the lost prophets!! damien rice! razorlight! oh and of course mouldy lookin stain!!! the whole day rocked!!!!

Tomo
Had a fantastic day buy some of the music was terrible - ie Natasha Bedingfield and estelle!!!! awful!!!! anyway, moving away from the rubbish, razorlight and kasabian were both fantastic!!!! and the lost prophets at the end were just amazing, especially how they encouraged the mosh pits :p i was rite in the thick of it with 4 of my m8s and it was spectacular!!!! thanku!!

Cannings
The "Best" performance of the entire day for me was Damien Rice e is simply a talent unto himself amazing and with all the improv done to each song the raw talent is just amazing

Paul Ferrens
The Music were by far the best band today, i didn't see one person in at the second stage not loving their set. Kasabian were also impressive as were Razorlight who showed the main stage audience a class performance,it was just a shame about the lager on sale at the beer tent.

Harri Morgan
Kasabian were awesome!!! so were Razorlight and Damien Rice!!!

Ruth
Lost Prophets rocked the whole weekend!thank you radio one!!! Lost prophets were the best end of!!!

Walsha
My first OBW and it rocked! The biggest highlight for me has to be firstly Lost Prophets who truly convinced me they have not sold out! I mean who else gets the whole crowd moshin?! Also Razorlight and The Music on the second stage! Big Thankyou's to Radio 1.

Phil
Went to both days, had one of the best week-ends of my life thx Radio 1. Lost prophets were superb, enjoyed the old stuff. Damien Rice, didn't expect to be blown away by his music! Bed calls.

Wayne Finch
Started off with Exist, a band combining what sounded to me like The Music style riffs with Oasis style vocal talent, and pulling it all off very nicely. The Departure, grand as ever, then the next band I took in was the awesome Razorlight. Johnny's voice carried great in that tent! Natasha was a bit of a downer, but hey, whatcha gonna do? The GLC. You knows it. And the Mouldy's were good too. But, of course, the truly awesome lostprophets. What an amazingly supremely brilliantly fantabulous end to an amazingly supremely brilliantly fantabulous day. Took me 2 hours to get home though...

Fred
Just got back from the gig lostprophets were great even encouraged the pits to kick off! i was at the center! one amazing gig to remember respect to everyone there gig to remember!!!

Becky
BADASS DAY!!! soooo good! RAZORLIGHT were wicked!! Prophets ROCKED n Ian Watkins spoke to me n my mate :D:D:D:D:D All the performances were good - i was front row centre n enjoyed every second!!! its so much better cos it was free!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Jelly Baby
OMG what a day, it was great, i cant believe it has actually happened, i never eva thought i would get to meet the lost prophets and GLC. Ian is damn fine, talkin of fine, VERNON KAY, only thing that could have made the day better would have been Vernon gettin his kit off. Damn northen lads, insist on bein so damn sexy!BUT, BUT , BUT, i do have to make a complaint im afraid to say, and it is a very serious one now boys and girls so brace urself, it is shockin, truly shockin, I bought i hot dog for 3 quid, w8 thats not the shockin thing, the shockin thing is, there was no moyo anywhere to be found, not is that wrong or is that wrong, i think that is so wrong i sould get a date wid vernon kay to make up for it, who agrees??? YOUKNOWSIT!!!!!

ed
heylo i thought today was amazing lost prophets were soo cool n the music...and mouldy lookin stain of course :D cant wait for the next one. ian watkins n lee are sooo fit oh and vernon :)

lucky
estella & natasha were unbearable as were glc, BUT!! damien rice saved the day with a beautiful set. almost brought me to tears it did, and i got a front row view too... BUT!! why was he on BEFORE GLC?? glc are rubbish, whereas damien is some sort of genius :D and deserved much more time. his set was just perfect, *sigh*

Mark Clerkin
