Manchester - Gigs and Bands Rev yourself up for the big gig on Sunday by hitting a few Manchester hotspots this weekend! And if you think you know better give us the lowdown...
Lizzie cuddy: "5th Avenue definitely takes some beating on a Friday night - where else can you be dancing to the Foo Fighters one mintue and Build Me Up Buttercup the next?!"
Dave Gregory: "The Star and Garter pub across from Piccadilly Train Station. A pokey place with a VERY cosy boys room but home to some great Smiths nights and gigs from the up and the coming."
Lucy Woolrich: "If you're a rock fan, you gotta go to Jilly's (Rock World) all nighter on a Fri on Oxford Road. It is essential! Linkin Park and Sum 41 are among the bands who have been there. Ok, so it's a bit of a dive, but you're guaranteed a gr8 time til 7am."
George Bullimore: "Try the Night and Day cafe right near the centre of town, it has excellent food (the Mexican food's fantastic) and some of the best live music in Manchester. The place is small so it means you are really close to the bands and the atmosphere's great. Some celebs also hang out there, I have seen Badly Drawn Boy in there!"
Amy Fender: "Oldham Street itself rocks! There you've got the arcade which connects with Afflecks Palace (the perrrrrfect shop for all indies/moshers/ goths/grunge ppl/confused ppl [like me])"
Paul Towers "Wow i have been to many gigs and festivals but the Stripes blew the roof off that tent. I was impressed by the crowds reactions to Feeder playing some of the old stuff..."
