wait a minute, Blur SHOULD win Best Album- in that category they stand out like a daffodil at spring time, they truly deserve it but i don't know why the album isn't as big as their previous ones, to me it's better than Parklife, so go out there, buy it and then come back with a good honest opinion! Radiohead have to win best british group, their world tour in 2003 was absolutely incredible not to mention the album, if the judges consider any of the other acts in that group to be close to radiohead they need their heads tested

I remember Duran Duran in the '80's and I count myself as a fan but Outstanding Contribution to Music award?!! - come on. I also went to Knebworth last Summer and why Robbie isn't up for an award is the biggest joke out. If someone should be up for the Outstanding Contribution to British Music award it should be RW!

I think that the best single nominations are a load of rubbish. I mean its all pop trash, having Gareth up for it is just a joke. Also what is with Busted and Sugababes being up for best group, that can't be right, I hope Busted leave emptyhanded, and the true winners get the awards. Will Young definitely should not be up for Best Male as well. British pop has gone way down because of people like him and is just getting worse all the time. I also say its about time our great rock scene got recognised with the new category, I think all the nominees in that category are all very deserving.

Will Young deserves to win best male. He took a year off to write Friday's Child and it has been worth the wait. Friday's Child should have been nominated for best album, it is brillant, but I suppose it was released too late.

Oh dearm there are some real poor artists up for nomination this year i feel. Why are Busted up for so many? and Mis-teeq? Chili Peppers should have been nominated for a few - Best International group - Definatly. Hope Stereophonics win Best Rock Act, Strokes win Best International Group and The Thrills win Best International Breakthrough artist. Should be a wicked event like always though!!!

why are peeps saying that robbie williams shud have been nominated? err he's not eligable this year! its time to pass on the coverted award to sumone who deserves it- Will Young, he has worked so hard this year, his album has been critically and publically acclaimed, Friday's Child is a masterpiece, William iz a superstar and in my opinion shud be awarded best male on the night! Amy Winehouse deserves to win as does Damien Rice. Cant wait for the BRITS, cummon will!!!!!!

i hope stereophonics get best rock band. they deserve it. about time they got rewarded for their hard work. the last album deserved to be nominated too, its their best yet and they put on a briliant live performance. feeder were disappointing live at glasgow and cardiff supporting stereophonics.

Theres so many good bands missed out this year. and Radiohead in a group with Busted, what is going on here! It seems a shame that great musical talents are put in a group with a bunch of sad acts trying to be rock stars. I worry about the world of music.

My favorite one for the 2004 MasterCard British Album Award is Blur, though I know they can't win as tey're NOT nominated in the British Group Category... and I still don't know why. It's Radiohead in their place... it would have been more logical to nominate Radiohead only in Best Rock Act. Great Rock bands are not nominated this year : Starsailor, Turin Brakes, Elbow... but the positive point is that the British Rock scene is pretty wealth.

The Darkness should sweep the board. They are the best act to hit British music in a long long time. Original, not depressing like others we could mention, pure rock as it should be. Why weren't they nominated for best single. I Believe in a Thing Called Love should be there.

Well done to Busted for getting 3 nominations. Although I was a little disappointed they weren't up for best album. Both their albums are still in top 40. All their tracks are great and ask any fan - it's almost impossible to pick a favourite. They have worked really, really hard and have produced original tracks and have a unique sound, which cannot be pigeon-holed into rock, punk or pop. They are just "Busted". Although they are up against the Darkness, I really hope they do win best group and look forward to a fantastic 2004.

i am disgusted that blue are not up 4 any awards this year, let alone best pop!! they won best pop last year, so how can they not even be nominated?! and best album, again blue should at least be nominated - their 3rd album guilty, like their other 2, went straight in at No.1! and why? coz they are the best! okay, so lee got banned from driving coz he drank - drive, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be nominated for any awards! the brits are supposed to be about the music they make, not what the musicians get up to in their private lives! then there's robbie - with his record-breaking gigs at knebworth surely he deserves some kind of award! i am a passionate music lover, but these awards are seriously going rapidly downhill! good to see sugagbabes nominated for something, they are the best girl group ever!

Delta Goodrem shoulh have been nominated. Her album has remianed stable in the top 20 since its release and outselling many other artist nominated. One nomination should have been in order! Acknowledge the true aussie talent!

It's great to see Jamie Cullum in the British Breakthrough Awards...shows people that the Brits are recognising not just pure pop acts. Will be tough choice between Jamie (who is such an amazing live performer) and the Darkness.

i think the nominations are pretty poor really, esp in the rock catorgory i can think of much better british bands then whats on that list. the brits have got worse every year, i really hope the darkness dont win anything their just copying what great bands did years ago and selling it off now! its pathetic! as much as i hate busted etc i rather see them win over the darkness.........shameful

I know some people won't agree with me but i do think Will Young does deserve to win Best Male. he has had a fab year, and gone away and done his own thing, and produced an amazing second album, which shut up a lot of critics. I like Amy Winehouse, and she deserves to do well, and so does Christina !

I'm satisfied with this year's nominations. Nevertheless, 2003 saw the massive return of Rock And Roll bands, here are those that I would have loved to see in the British Group category : Radiohead, Blur (only album!), Starsailor, Turin Brakes, Muse. As The Brits have to be liked by everyone, they've - off course - nominated two pop bands in that category (Busted and Sugababes). The Travis' have been omitted but they could have been given a British Rock Act nomination as a consolation to a disappointing album (like the Stereophonics).

The Brit Awards are a joke! Lots of really good artists have been left out of the nominations this year. For instance why hasn't BLUE been nominated? They have had a fantastic year what with their 3rd album (which they completely wrote themselves apart from one track!), and the fantastic 2 month arena tour they did at the end of 2003. BLUE deserve to be nominated and given recognition for all their hard work. They have real talent not like other groups! I cant think of many other bands who always sing live. They should be given the recognition they deserve! BLUE U R THE BEST!

As for the person who said christina should be up for, there is only a certain amount she can get because she is classed as an international act because she isn't british. Busted deserve to win best british group because for me personly they have changed the way i see music now and have opened a whole lot of different types of music for me to view. (I mean i now listen to rock and before busted i would'nt have touched it) I think busted ahuold also have been nominated for best album too, because both their albums are still in the top 40, and the onky band to outsell them is coldplay, the tunes are rockin' too. I am also disapointed that westlife didn't get any nominations they have had a fantastic year. To have Busted in the Brits is just another obstical in front of the British music scene, deprieving it of growth.
