Glasgow

GlasgowHaving spent a few days in the relative countryside we're now in Glasgow...

We're all properly excited about today's show because Primal Scream will be performing. We're hoping they'll do our anthem for the road trip which is 'Country Girl' and maybe one other track too. Should be special!

Our journey continues

...and it's now turing into a bit of a school trip, but we've still to have someone be sick in the van.

Give it time and if I get as drunk tonight as I think i'm going to then it might well be me. Wake up this morning hoping to see Mr President, Bill Clinton, who we heard was staying at the hotel. Even an early morning swim didn't help me fish him out.

Natalie (makes events happen)

Hi all

I'm Natalie and I co-ordinate all the outside broadcasts. It's been a great week so far here and we're having fun. We are all over the place!

Yesterday was brilliant on the boat with Skipper Jim, and a big thanks to all the people of Oban who came down to see us at the harbour and made us feel so welcome.

Highlights so far...singing 'Islands in the Stream' by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton at the top of our voices in our branded people carrier as we drove past Loch Ness, teaching Colin to swim in the hotel in Glasgow, watching Uncle Piers' head get redder by the day because of the gorgeous sunshine, seeing some of the most beautiful scenery ever, and winding up Dempsey and Makepeace (the nicknames for our two burly Scottish security guards!)

Becci

Wednesday - 18.34

Becci: Assistant Producer on the show (or Colin's lackey)

A feet worse than death

My quote of the day - producer Richard: "We need to shave a bit of Rihanna off"!

We're in the car on the way to our next location who knows where that may be? Luckily I'm not in the car with Colin - (text sent from the other car...they thought it was the cheesy pizza, but oh no it was Murray's feet!)

Uncle Piers falling over Best bits so far: Uncle Piers falling on his arse and repeatedly falling down the hill while posing for a photo! Primal Scream live was great today, and watching the sunset over a gorgeous loch in the Highlands... not something you get in London.

Strangest moment: Al Fresco toilet break... very bizarre! Nat and myself trying to keep our bums hidden from prying eyes!

Biggest disappointment: Not seeing nessie :(

My prediction

Another glorious day in the motherland, I've actually got white bits. Today it's all about The Scream - Col and I have a bit of history with Bobby and Mani, in that we bloody love them. They don't fail to impress us - not just with their banter, but their version of 'Rocks' rocks! A lot of fun doing the show where I kind of learnt to cheerlead and make a pizza - skills I will need in later life perhaps.

Back in the van after the show and on top the M8. Becci has made a mix tape for the journey which includes a few choice tracks from her love of hardcore techno, but a genius mix of Editors 'All Sparks' and a drum'n'bass version of Kanye West's 'Golddigger'. Sweet.

We arrive in our secret destination and head out for some dinner, then back for a bit of UEFA watching, then I'm off to DJ and the gang are all coming. I predict sick.

Richard

Wednesday - 21.22

Richard (the producer)

We've been learning a lot about each other.

The kind of personal things you only find out when you "live" with each other for a week. Those that can't take their white wine (Uncle Piers). Those that can't live without an internet connection and MySpace (Edith). And those who are grumpy first thing in the morning and best to be avoided (Colin).

The highlight so far has been the beautiful countryside in the Highlands with the fresh country air and the stillness of the lochs. The low point was smelling Colin's feet, baking on a hot dashboard as we left Glasgow. With the air con blowing the foul rotting stench into the back of the car. It's only when he put his socks to his nose that he realised just how bad the smell actually was.
