Venezuela says it will continue its oil trade
The Venezuelan leader has accused the US of trying to turn his country into a colony.
The Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro has accused the United States of trying to turn his country into a colony. In a defiant address, he said any attempt at regime change would fail. His comments come a day after President Trump announced a blockade on sanctioned oil tankers, saying Venezuela was now surrounded by US military forces.
European Union leaders are gathering to try to break their deadlock on a plan to use frozen Russian assets to fund a huge loan for Ukraine. As the EU continues to debate how to help finance Ukraine's war against Russia, our defence correspondent looks at how Ukraine looks after it's security needs.
And President Trump has delivered a speech in which he said the economy under his leadership is in better shape than many Americans believe.
