DR Congo-Rwanda peace deal

The deal will end the long-running conflict in the east of DR Congo.

The leaders of Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo have signed a peace agreement in Washington to end the long- running conflict in the eastern DRC. President Trump hosted Paul Kagame and Felix Tshisekedi in a ceremony at the newly renamed Donald J. Trump US Institute of Peace. Mr Trump called it a great day for Africa and the world.

US President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff have met with Rustem Umerov, Ukraine's national security council chief in Miami on how to secure a lasting peace deal. It follows talks with the Russian President Vladimir Putin who has said he intends to seize full control of Ukraine's Donbas region through military force, unless Ukrainian troops withdraw. We speak to a Lithuanian diplomat to get a view on how these current Ukraine talks have been going.

Spain, Ireland, the Netherlands and Slovenia have said they will boycott next year's Eurovision Song Contest because Israel would continue to be allowed in the competition.
