One of Britain’s premier acting talents, Colin Salmon has been a star of the big and small screen since his big break playing opposite Helen Mirren in ITV’s critically acclaimed Prime Suspectin 1992.
I always wanted to be a dancer when I was younger, so this is my chance.Colin Salmon
Following further success on the small screen with Soldier Soldier, Colin made the transition to feature films, appearing in no fewer than three Bond movies, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World is Not Enough and Die Another Day; as the character Charles Robinson.
It might be no suprise to hear that Colin’s introduction to the acting world is the stuff of screenplays. Spotted by a casting agent busking outside London’s Tricycle Theatre, he was put forward for a role in the production, and the rest is history.
Colin has since mixed TV and film roles, ranging from Doctor Who and The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency to lead characters in blockbuster films, Alien Versus Predator and Resident Evil, as well as Resident Evil: Retribution, which was released in September. Colin’s latest challenge is transferring his considerable screen charisma to the Strictly dancefloor.
Colin is married to artist Fiona Hawthorne, and the couple have four children, Sasha, Rudi, Eden and Ben.
