Andrew Tomlinson

Andrew is the executive producer responsible for BBC Learning’s contribution to the Big Painting Challenge project. That includes the Little Painting Challenge postcard competition; a live online lesson hosted by children’s illustrator Nick Sharratt; more than a hundred and fifty painting classes in libraries and public buildings across the UK -- and an online offering including the Big Painting Challenge website and a series of iWonder guides. Since 2010, Andrew has been the executive producer of a number of BBC Learning’s high profile events and campaigns, including CBBC Live in Newcastle, BBC Learning Live at the Commonwealth Games and Bang Goes the Theory Live. In 2011, he was responsible for securing more than 12,000 contributions to the BBC2 crowd-sourced documentary Britain in a Day, from amateur film-makers across the UK. Andrew has experience of running large-scale competitions from his time as editor and producer on Countryfile, whose annual photographic competition attracts up to 60,000 entries a year.
