Best advice?
Take responsibility for your actions, break the rules and create rules of your own.
Biggest achievement?
Building a home from shipping containers and second hand double glazing panels.
Random fact?
Had an art installation closed down by police because neighbours complained about music coming out of their toilets.

Paddy Bloomer went to Dromore High School where he discovered that he was good at woodwork, electronics and canoeing. He studied engineering at Lisburn Tech, but decided he wanted to be a sculptor.

Paddy enjoys experimenting with everyday objects and is always on the hunt for new challenges, hoping to avoid getting a ‘proper’ nine to five job. Still skint, with no steady income, you might say he succeeded.

Just like himself, Paddy creates machines that don't have regular jobs. You won’t find marble statues, clay models or ivory carving in his workshop. Think stair lift rollercoasters, rocket launchers and a chainsaw living a new life as a back massager.

Having intrigued audiences as far afield as Chicago, Lisbon and Slovenia, his exhibition spaces have included sewers, chimneys and lampposts. You’ll find Paddy tinkering with his latest creations at the Lawrence Street Workshops in Belfast.
