Ore & Sonali

Newsreaders Ore Oduba and Sonali Shah are dancing for Comic Relief!

Sonali and Ore are best known as presenters of CBBC's flagship Newsround, which the pair presented together between 2010 and 2011. They have also presented British Olympic Dreams for BBC News Channel.

Ore Oduba joined the Newsround team in August 2008 and shortly after became the presenter of sport spin-off show Sportsround.

In 2010, he began presenting the main BBC One Newsround bulletin alongside Sonali. Following Sonali's departure in late 2011, he now presents the show alongside Leah Gooding and Hayley Cutts.

In addition to Newsround, Ore has presented a number of sports bulletins for BBC Breakfast and BBC Radio 5 Live, as well as British Olympic Dreams for BBC News Channel - alongside Sonali.

He now presents CBBC's Match of the Day Kickabout and is a regular face on the CBBC channel.

Sonali Shah's presenting career began in local hospital radio, whilst studying for a career in medicine (her parents run a pharmacy). Shortly after graduation, Sonali joined the BBC World Service – where she worked as a producer and presented on a number of shows before moving to BBC Radio 5 Live as a producer for Jeff Rendall’s Weekend Business. Once at Radio 5 Live, she reported for Weekend Business, Wake Up to Money and 5 Live Money.

Sonali’s biggest breakthrough came when she landed a job on the presenting team of CBBC’s Newsround. Having first presented the morning and afternoon bulletins, she became anchor of the main BBC One bulletin in 2008. In late 2011 – after five years - Sonali stepped down from Newsround. Since then, she has presented on BBC World News and BBC News Channel, and was among the BBC News team for the Diamond Jubilee coverage on BBC One.

In recent years she has become a regular face for BBC Sport, covering events including the Commonwealth Games in 2010, 2011 Cricket World Cup, University Boat Race, and Wimbledon. During the Olympics, she anchored BBC3 shows.

Ore and Sonali once did a Michael Jackson tribute dance for Newsround, complete with Moonwalk!
