Ellie Price
Daily and Sunday Politics reporter
Ellie Price spent most of first election campaign as a journalist feeling sick, as she hurtled around the West country in 2005 in the back of a BBC Politics Show branded camper van.
She studied (you guessed it) politics at Bristol University and did a post-grad at Cardiff in broadcast journalism.
She went on to get a job as a video journalist at the Press Association where she specialised in politics. Highlights there included covering the US election that brought Barack Obama to power in 2008 and the election that eventually brought the Coalition to power here in 2010 (it was a LONG few days and didn't feel like a highlight at the time).
She also covered Royal events and even had an access pass to get into Buckingham Palace. In fact she once had to apologise to Prince Philip when she stood on his foot while filming the Queen. He was very nice about it.
After that she became a TV reporter for ITV in East Anglia, earning her stripes on diverse stories that included controversial waste incinerators, prison reform and one-eyed seals. She also discovered Norwich is a lovely place to live.
She worked at BBC South East as a political reporter, which gave a good perspective on the rise of UKIP in Kent as well as the experiences of Green governance in Brighton. Again, a lovely area to live in.
She's talked about politics on Radio Four's Today Programme, WATO and PM, as well as BBC 5live, the News Channel, BBC Breakfast and the news bulletins on BBC 1.
Ellie has only ever been star-struck once and that was when she tried to interview Charmian Carr. If you google her, you'll find out why that's a bit embarrassing.
