George had a perfect life in Sydney, writing his newspaper column and enjoying time with his wife Laura and their teenage kids, Shay and Arlo. But after Laura’s sudden death George goes into a tailspin and moves - taking an extremely reluctant Shay and Arlo - to Weld, a small town on the New Zealand coast where he used to spend his childhood holidays.

Resolving that “sometimes you need to go back, before you can move forward” George is hoping the fresh start will help them all heal but one thing is certain – in a small town like Weld, everyone else is going to make it their business too.
