Matt Seren was able-bodied until an accident in his mid-twenties left him paraplegic. He remained fit and strong and ultimately coped well with the sudden changes in his life. When Matt joins the nursing team he ruffles feathers. He’s opinionated, cynical and sharp tongued. Frankie and Andy like his quick wit and the way he plays with their right-on attitudes. His unsentimental outlook is refreshing to some, infuriating to others.

Ben began his career as a child actor on BBC1’s Grange Hill, later appearing in New Street Law, Dalziel & Pascoe and Shameless. After becoming paraplegic Ben took part in the BBC/C4 Talent Fund for Disabled Actors and continues to work in television drama; including The Best of Men, Lucy Gannon’s award-winning dramatisation of the Dr. Guttman story.
