The Racing Pod: Hello Ollie Boyden
The Bromsgrove-born jockey opens up on retiring through injury at only 24 years old.
With Trevor Owens, he shares a journey from mucking out horses in freezing cold to living his dream on racecourses up and down the country.
Oliver Boyden picked up the bug going to Worcester racecourse with his dad, falling in love with the action at Pitchcroft. Following work experiences in Worcestershire stables, not least at Tom Gretton Racing in Inkberrow, before clocking up starts galore across the nation.
He shares how, after a head injury in 2025, he's recovering well and flourishing as a mentor for the jockeys of the future.
