Epping fly-tips are 'getting worse'
There's concern that illegally dumped waste is on the rise across the Epping Forest district. In January, one of the largest fly-tipping incidents ever seen in ancient woodland happened at Loughton Camp, home to one of two Iron Age forts which were built around 500 BC.
Across Essex between 2024 and 2025 there were more than 25,000 fly-tipping incidents, with Basildon (6,220) and Colchester (4,348) seeing the most.
