Imprisoned for colluding with would-be-assassin Anthony Babington, Mary awaits the axe.
When Protestant Queen Elizabeth's spy master Sir Francis Walsingham entrapped Mary Stuart corresponding secretly with Catholic plotter Sir Anthony Babington, she was imprisoned for 18 years.
She spent her final five months at Fotheringhay Castle in Northamptonshire where she was put to death in 1587.
