Unemployment rates 'risk a generation on the scrapheap'
The UK's unemployment rate hit a near five-year high in the last three months of 2025, climbing to 5.2%, official figures show, with unemployment amongst 16 to 24-year-olds up 37,000 between October and December, and almost 100,000 over the year.
Today's Nick Robinson speaks to Alan Milburn, former health secretary under Tony Blair, who is leading a government review into what he's called the "national outrage" of the "lost generation" of almost a million young people who are so-called Neets - not in education, employment or training.
