You can't train for an incident like this

In all his years as a firefighter, Simon Griffiths has never experienced anything like the major incident at the Llangollen Canal. Simon was the first emergency responder to arrive at the scene in Whitchurch when a giant hole emerged, leaving boats stricken in the cavity or teetering on the edge of the drop.
"You can never train for an incident like this, you just have to work it out as the incident progresses" Simon told BBC Radio Shropshire's Adam Green.
