‘The Best Car in The World’
The Darracq 200hp: THE fastest thing on the planet in 1905
In 1905 the Darracq 200hp was THE fastest thing on the planet (except for bullets!)
For one Leicestershire man, his passion for old cars led him to buy this one-of-a-kind classic. Then, after 12000 hours of restoration, he got it back on the road.
The stats are still astonishing today, but they must have seemed close to impossible at the time. Over 25 litres, 300 brake horsepower, and weighing just under a ton - The Darracq 200hp was, and still is, a fire breathing monster.
The current owner believes it’s literally the best car in the world and it's tucked away in a shed right here in Leicestershire.
