Cherries fans disappointed at FA Cup venue
AFC Bournemouth Women qualified for the fourth round of the FA Cup for the first time this season. In December it was announced that their next opponents would be top tier leaders Manchester City.
Many had hoped that the fixture would be played at Vitality to allow as many fans to attend as possible. Bournemouth women typically play their matches at Ringwood Community Hub, which does not meet the FA's requirements for the fixture.
It was then announced that the tie would be played at Snows Stadium, the home of sixth-tier men's team AFC Totton. The ground holds a 5,000 capacity and is 23 miles from Boscombe, the centre of Bournemouth's fanbase.
