New start for the owners of the fire-destroyed Dorset Burger Company

Available for over a year

Ross Kay and Emma Cogan witnessed their popular Weymouth restaurant, the Dorset Burger Company burn down in January 2025. After being forced to find new jobs whilst the rebuilding work was done, they both came to the conclusion that they wanted to do something different and connected to the jobs they were doing. Emma works in Dorchester with special educational needs and Ross is a careers advisor and teacher. They plan to open a community cafe called Sea-Saw, providing young SEN school leavers and students with opportunities for work experience. It will be run as a non-profit company and all profits will go towards supporting students. They plan to have burger nights to raise money for local charities and the training centre and cafe should be opening this coming September.
