Should SUV drivers pay more for parking?
Lambeth is considering a parking surcharge for larger and heavier vehicles.
There is no doubt they are very popular but is a city any place for a SUV?
The vehicles tend to be heavier, larger and more polluting than other cars, and researchers say they are more dangerous to pedestrians and cyclists.
Cardiff council has already decided to increase the cost of parking permits for cars weighing more than 2,400kg (5,290lb) - the equivalent of roughly two Ford Fiestas. But the question is, will councils in London start to do the same?
