Beneath the surface of Leicester's market place, a wealth of archaeology can be found.
Some of our local history has not only been forgotten about, but also completely covered over. As part of the redevelopment of Leicester Market Place, archaeologists from the University of Leicester Archaeological Society have had a unique opportunity to see what hidden history they can find beneath the surface. It turns out there's a wealth of stories to tell... not least about the presence of a medieval dungeon!
BBC Leicester’s Ben Jackson donned his boots and hard hat and went along to speak to the leader of the dig, Gavin Speed.
