'Off my mind' the impact of growing up with no space
Cllr Adrian Foster, Cabinet Member for Housing, Wiltshire Council said “We do appreciate the difficulties that being overcrowded can bring to any family, however we do have to ensure that all families are assessed in accordance with the Councils adopted allocation policy and are treated in a fair and transparent way.
“If a family is assessed as being statutory overcrowded, they would be offered the opportunity to make a homeless application to determine and assess any duties the authority may have towards the family. Any family who requires one additional bedroom is not likely to be considered as statutory overcrowded and would be awarded Band 4 due to needing an additional bedroom.”
