Chancellor Rachel Reeves hints at changes to two-child benefit cap
The chancellor Rachel Reeves has hinted at changes to the two-child benefit cap, potentially replacing it with a tapering system.
The cap, introduced by the Conservatives, prevents households on universal or child tax credit from receiving payments for a third or subsequent child born after April 2017.
Speaking to Radio 5 Live’s Matt Chorley, Reeves says that child poverty "should not be tolerated" and that "we will take action.
