‘I’d like to think [Lucy] inspires them to be the best they can’

England’s Lionesses have lifted the UEFA Women's Euro trophy for the second time in a row, becoming the first English team to win a major tournament on foreign soil.

After their dramatic penalty-shootout victory over Spain, defender Lucy Bronze told BBC Sport she had played the entire tournament with a fractured tibia.

Her mum, Diane Bronze joined Clare McDonnell on BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour to talk about her daughters resilience and success, saying this injury was no secret in camp.

You can listen to Diane’s full interview on BBC Sounds – It’s the Woman’s Hour episode from 28 July.
