The journalist who told the world about Srebrenica graves

The Srebrenica genocide in Bosnia 30 years ago was the worst single atrocity on European soil since World War Two. More than 8,000 Muslim men and boys were massacred by Serb forces over the course of a few days.

The journalist David Rohde, who uncovered and told the world about the mass graves after the genocide, won a Pulitzer prize for his reporting.

In this essay for Weekend he recalls how he came across the story and reflects on what’s happened since.
