The history of Chelsea in 50 buildings

A neighbourhood better known by its people, SW10 also has a rich architectural history.

The West London neighbourhood of Chelsea has changed enormously over the years. In the 'Swinging Sixties' it was a vibrant hub for fashion and music.... where the likes of Mary Quant, Vivienne Westwood, and the Rolling Stones set up shop. Nowadays, it's a place beloved by the influential and wealthy.

But while Chelsea's inhabitants are certainly part of its story, so too are its buildings. BBC Radio London's Robert Elms has been speaking to London historian and Tour Guide Lucy McMurdo, about her new book 'Chelsea in 50 Buildings'.
