Midlands Today has been the BBC’s flagship regional news programme in the West Midlands for more than 60 years.

When it first aired on Monday 28 September 1964 it was broadcast from a small studio on Broad Street in Birmingham.

Making the jump to Pebble Mill provided the early opportunities for future broadcasting legends Nick Owen and Bob Warman.
