From Nantwich: DJ, counsellor and in the charts
When Spencer Hickson isn't supporting vulnerable people through the power of music and a charity he set up, he's making huge dance anthems under the name Desyfer.
His tracks, recorded with vocalist Emma Konnanov, have helped him become one of the top 100 best-selling artists by sales in the country.
Also, running alongside 25 years of songwriting, Spencer works around Crewe and his hometown of Nantwich with Inner Trust, which supports disadvantaged and vulnerable children by using music and DJing to engage with them, building their confidence and resilience.
As a musician and producer, he's toured all over the world, releasing on some of music's biggest labels, including Gatecrasher, Sony and Ministry of Sound. He's had 50 releases included in adverts, film and TV, and for 2025, has landed four gigs at the legendary Eden superclub in Ibiza.
Spencer's tracks have been supported by BBC Introducing and BBC Radio Stoke.
