Speaking to 5 Live’s Naga Munchetty, Scott said: “What it does well, firstly, highlighting the devastation, horror and sudden loss of the town and the residents.”

“Colin Firth who plays Jim Swire, I think he captures Doctor Jim Swire well, highlighting and focusing on his overwhelming grief.

“However, the way that it is told is so complicated.”

Hayley said: “The first episode is harrowing and bleak.”

“What I thought was interesting was seeing how little moments had been changed from the reality of what happened to something that worked better in a drama in terms of the meaning of it.”
