‘I couldn’t see a life beyond pain anymore’

Jen, who has adenomyosis & endometriosis, explains how these conditions impacted her life. She underwent a hysterectomy at the age of 34 and she wants to raise awareness of the conditions.

Speaking to 5 Live’s Naga Munchetty, she said: “I decided to come off the contraceptive pill, I’ve been on it for 22 years because that’s what I was told would ‘sort me out’.”

“What was happening during a week to two weeks of the month suddenly became every single day. I couldn’t see a life beyond pain anymore. I had to give up my career, I had my own business for nine years.”
