BBC Sing East! at Hackney Empire
In the lead up to the opening of the BBC’s new music studio at East Bank in London, the BBC Singers and BBC Symphony Chorus joined a group of East London choirs; F*Choir, Hackney Empire Community Choir, Ready Singer One, Reggae Choir, St Angela's Ursuline School Choir and Stratford East Singers, for a celebration of song at Hackney Empire.
On Sunday 28 January 2024, these choirs took to the Hackney Empire stage for a showcase of their work. The evening culminated in a massed performance with over 250 singers: a brand-new song created by Aga Serugo-Lugo with young people from Hackney Empire Creative Futures, What I Call Home. An unforgettable evening of music-making.
