Why have plans for a 'Stratford Sphere' been binned?

First it was the Garden Bridge, more recently The Tulip, and now the Stratford Sphere has joined the list of ambitious architecture projects in London that may fail to become reality.

In November 2023, plans for a huge new entertainment venue on the edge of the Olympic Park in Stratford were rejected by the Mayor Sadiq Khan.

Now, in January 2024, the US company has withdrawn its plans entirely.
