First case of new Covid-19 variant Omicron detected in Leicestershire

The first case of the new Covid-19 variant Omicron has been detected in Leicestershire.

The case has been discovered in the Oadby and Wigston area. The county council are now working hard to identify close contacts of the infected individual.
