Nas on LeBron James and Colin Kaepernick
Hip hop legend Nas names LeBron James and Colin Kaepernick as two athletes who continue Muhammad Ali’s legacy.
In a special bonus episode of The Fight Of The Century, BBC Radio 5 Live's Nihal Arthanayake speaks extensively to hip hop legend Nas.
The Grammy award-winning rapper named LeBron James and Colin Kaepernick as two athletes who continue to carry Muhammad Ali’s legacy on:
“When I look at LeBron James, he’s very active in things in the community. He has a school, he’s speaks up when he sees things that are wrong. In his position, that’s very Ali. He’s a true champion. I’m sure lots of people in the limelight are told to stay away from certain topics – he’s not that guy – he’s the Ali guy.
On Colin Kaepernick: “He’s another Ali. 100%. I know he must feel like, ‘how are people going this crazy that I’m protesting police murder and brutality? I’m trying to fix things by developing awareness – I’m on my knees because of the hypocrisy out here, until we fix this hypocrisy and be what America is supposed to be, what it’s supposed to stand for’. He’s very Ali.”
