Sister Clodagh begins to lose control of the convent. Feelings come to a head between Clodagh, Ruth and Mr Dean at the Christmas celebration.
Sister Ruth’s health worsens as winter sets in, and the ghost of Princess Srimati plagues her as Angu Ayah tells her more of the princess’ tragic fate. Dilip Rai’s arrival in search of education presents Clodagh with a dilemma, and she is forced to turn to Mr Dean for help.
As Clodagh struggles to keep control of the convent, Sister Philippa announces her desire to leave. Forbidden feelings between Sister Clodagh, Sister Ruth and Mr Dean come to a head at Christmas, interrupted by the dramatic arrival of Sister Adela and Father Roberts.
