  • The microphones in the studio are setup 2m apart
  • While the actors perform their lines, sound effects are performed by Vanessa Nuttall
  • Even though the actors are 2 metres apart, their characters aren’t necessarily talking to one another at this distance
  • An empty office in BBC Birmingham area has been adopted as a ‘green room’ area for the actors
  • Due to social distancing, the director is located in on the studio floor rather than in the cubicle with the technical crew
  • Due to the size of the dead room (used for outside scenes), a maximum of two people can be in it at the same time
  • Rigorous cleaning time is built into the recording schedule after every scene
  • Although the experience is very different from pre-Covid times, it is excellent to be back recording face to face
