Reading FC: Bowen signs contract until 2021

Mark Bowen reflects on his new contract with Tim Dellor, just hours after signing it.

The contract extension comes after a run of nine games unbeaten, which has seen Reading rise up the Championship table.

"It's something I wasn't expecting," Bowen told BBC Radio Berkshire's Tim Dellor. "It came out of the blue, because we have been really focussed on the job in hand of climbing the table.

"It's nice to get a new contract, but it can only happen if the players buy into what we're doing, and the hard work they've been putting in.

"There seems to be a really good feeling around the place, so long may that continue."
