Highlights: TrueFest

It was billed as the ‘ultimate house party’ with more than 65 acts, 5 stages, a sauna, swimming pool and real toilets!
Set in the beautiful location of Baskerville Hall, near Hay-on-Wye, the organisers hosted three days of DJs, bands, theatre, comedy, burlesque, cinema and AV shows.
This year the fancy dress theme was 'National Treasures versus Guilty Pleasures' with Beardyman headlining the event.

How to write a hit record: Alan McGee

This week, we hear part three of our series with Hay-on-Wye's hit-maker Alan McGee.
Alan was the founding father of Creation Records, responsible for signing bands such as Oasis, Primal Scream, My Bloody Valentine and The Libertines.
Alan was also behind a club night which saw appearances from The Killers, Kaiser Chiefs, Razorlight, Kasabian and The Darkness.
He's just launched a brand new record label, this month, called Creation23.

Monthly roadshows

If you run a venue or you’re a music promoter, then we want to hear from you!
Since the beginning of 2011, we've taken our BBC Introducing show out on-the-road to various areas across our patch.
Every month, we rock up at a different venue with a pile of microphones, cables and recording equipment along with several vans full of enthusiastic musicians!
As well as the bands being able to invite an audience, we also bring along a number of music industry professionals to comment on the live acts.
We tend to host our sessions on evenings/weekends is because it's normally a quiet time for venues - so effectively you get a free gig curated with the best bands (from the thousands who have submitted their music to us), full tech provided, plus tonnes of publicity from the bands and the radio station - so effectively you just need to open your doors!
