Rowing: Dawson feeling the pressure of men’s four

Jacob Dawson wants a strong showing in Belgrade in the flagship British Rowing boat.

With many of the Olympic medallists moved into the men’s eight for this season, Dawson has been moved into the boat which has won gold at the last five Olympic games.

“There’s certainly an element of pressure,” Dawson told BBC Radio Berkshire’s Tim Dellor. “The boat has been the top, flagship boat for the last few years.

“The eight is the top boat this year, so in some respects it takes the pressure off a little bit.”

And Dawson is already looking ahead to the European Championships this year which will be raced in Glasgow.

“The Europeans are obviously in Glasgow this year, on home land.

“They’ll be fun to do.”
