'Insurance is there to help with risk... it's not a gamble'
The big global insurance companies have been excited about Africa for some time now. A growing middle class with disposable income has prompted senior executives to describe the continent as a "waking giant".
In 2017, the German financial services firm Allianz bought the Nigerian firm Ensure for $35m (£26m).
The BBC’s Lerato Mbele sat down with Delphine Maidou, Africa's chief operating officer for Allianz, and asked her where the next acquisitions are likely to be.
