Why Conte will ‘struggle’ for a top job this summer

Italian football writer James Horncastle says Antonio Conte will struggle to get a top job this summer, if he was to leave Chelsea at the end of the season.

“It’s no secret that he wants to return to Italy," Horncastle said. "But AC Milan have given Gennaro Gattuso a three-year deal which is a big endorsement of what he’s doing there and Conte doesn’t believe the time is right for the National team job.”

German football expert Raphael Honigstein says that Conte’s reputation has been damaged after his time at Stamford Bridge, adding: “He might not be at fault for what has happened at Chelsea, but he’s done his international reputation no favours. European clubs will very wary of working with someone who’s so combustible.”
