In session

Herefordshire's Joe Mitchell has a wealth of experience as a live performer.
At the age of 15, he was playing around the pubs and clubs of his native Scotland and the North of England.
In his early twenties, Joe moved to London where worked on various film/TV projects playing all styles of music.
After forming a band with his song-writing partner, they landed a recording contract in New York.
Joe spent the next few years in the US, playing in small clubs, at large festivals and appearing on many live radio shows.
He also worked on some big brand promotions such as Budweiser and Disney.
Sadly, the label ran into trouble; the strain of which split the band.
He's since toured with Gerry And The Pacemakers, playing bass, but now writes solo material at his home in Kilpeck, between Hereford and Abergavenny.
“A stunning set from a musician with an equally impressive story to tell” - Andrew Marston.

A Midlands' band have just returned from their seventh European tour.

This latest trip also saw Worcester ex-pat John-Joe Murray returning to fiddle duties; he now lives abroad with his family.

TV themes

When you think of the most played artists of all time on British television, you could be mistaken in thinking it's the Beatles or the Kinks from the '60s, Elton John or Stevie Wonder from the '70s, The Eurythmics or Wham from the '80s, Blur or Oasis in the '90s, or Eminem, Adele, Ed Sheeran and Lady Gaga from this side of the millennium.
But one artist from Malvern surpasses possibly all of those artists put together - yet nobody really knows who he is.
Composer Dave Lowe has been responsible for some of the most recognisable theme tunes in Britain and today we explore some of his back catalogue.

Ukuleles!

Worcestershire's festival capital - Upton-upon-Severn - is getting a new festival this summer.
However, it's featuring just one particular instrument - the ukulele!
Four headline acts will perform at four venues, including international artists from the USA, Canada, Germany and Holland.
The event, which features more than 200 sessions, will take place a week before the Jazz Festival.
