Andrew Marston introduces Ross Angeles (Ross-on-Wye)

Ross Angeles are a female-fronted electronic/pop duo from Herefordshire and Bristol.

Mike Wynn used to be in a lot of rock bands, including Labels, Flat Pack Heroes and We Shall Meet In The Place Where There Is No Darkness - receiving rave reviews from Radio 1's Huw Stephens.

Together with Flossie-T on vocals, Ross Angeles stole the show on our BBC Introducing stage at the Wychwood Festival on Cheltenham Racecourse earlier this year and it was a real pleasure to welcome them to this year's Worcester Music Festival.

Musicians in Worcester are being offered the chance to become one of Crowngate Shopping Centre’s official buskers.

The shopping centre - the largest in the city - is inviting new and seasoned musicians from around the area to apply for the chance to showcase their performance skills at any of the five new ‘Busk Stops’.

Erica Burlace, Crowngate Centre Manager, says: “In particular, we are encouraging acoustic acts as the Busk Stop locations will really suit and showcase this particular musical style.

"Big names such as Ed Sheeran, Rod Stewart and Justin Bieber all started their careers by busking, so who knows where it could lead.”

During these last couple of weeks, we've been getting the secrets of writing a hit from Pete Waterman, fresh off the back of his appearance at the 30th Bewdley Festival.

As one third of Stock Aitken Waterman, Pete went on to write and produce for noteable acts such as Donna Summer, Kylie Minogue, Cliff Richard, Bananarama and Rick Astley.

Despite the reported fall in record sales, Waterman says he's now earning more money than when his songs were at the top of the charts.

This annual festival was first staged in 2008 by Chris Bennion, who produces Worcestershire Sauce.

He set up a website called NotJustSauce - aiming to put Worcester on the map musically.

It's been dubbed as Worcester's version of SXSW in Texas!

Taking place in around multiple venues across the city, from pubs, clubs, restaurants and cafes to historic buildings, river cruisers, record shops, on the streets and even in breweries, the festival is absolutely free to attend with hundreds of gigs to choose from from some of the best, new and emerging artists in the UK.

Throughout October, hear all of our highlights as we brought some of favourite acts to perform at Drummonds on the Sunday of the event.

Lost at Home are a four-piece band from Redditch in Worcestershire and "perform compelling combinations of rich pop layers among mixed styles of funky rhythm and rock."

Formed in July 2013, they have a wealth of performing experience and have appeared on our BBC Introducing stages at LakeFest and Snodfest.

No stranger to Maida Vale, Kidderminster's Robert Plant first played there with Led Zeppelin back in 1969.

Fast forward some 48 years, Robert's eleventh studio album, Carry Fire, is out this month and re-unites him with the Sensational Space Shifters.

The band now includes fiddling folk star Seth Lakeman, who joins them for this performance.

Since 2005, we've broadcast nearly 1,000 sessions, helping to showcase some of our area's most talented musicians to a massive audience.

Some of our recent highlights include Leominster’s AKA George at Glastonbury, Bromyard’s Remi Harris at the Montreal Jazz Festival and Hay-on-Wye’s Cherryshoes at T In The Park. 

We’ve handpicked some of our favourite acts to join us on stage at our next big event, which takes place on Sunday 29 October at the Phoenix Theatre in Ross-on-Wye.

These artists didn't even know they were being considered - and we hope this inspires people to keep sending in their music, because we really do listen to everything!

Admission is free and we'd love to see you anytime between 2pm and 6pm.
