Lance Corporal JJ Chalmers remembers thinking to himself 'Bruce Willis doesn't scream' as he lay in agony following an IED detonation.

Chalmers was left fighting for his life after he was blown up by an explosive device in Helmand Provice, Afghanistan in 2011.

"My friend Rob described me as looking like I'd been peeled. So, in hindsight, I was well within my rights to scream", he added.
